Your Data is Protected

PiñaPath is built with privacy-first principles. Your personal information is handled securely, transparently, and in compliance with data protection standards.

Secure Firebase Storage

All data — including your uploaded government ID — is stored in Firebase with restricted access. Only authorized Tourism Office admins can view ID photos, and every access is logged.

Complete Audit Logging

Every admin action — especially access to sensitive data like ID photos — is recorded in a tamper-evident audit log for full accountability.

Role-Based Access Control

Establishment staff see only what they need for check-in. Tourism Office admins have broader access, with all actions fully traceable and governed by privacy policy.

Got Questions? We Have Answers.

Everything you need to know about using PiñaPath as a visitor in Ormoc City.

Do I need an account to use PiñaPath?
Yes. You need to create a free account to generate your personal QR code. Registration requires basic personal information, nationality, purpose of visit, and a government-issued ID photo for verification purposes.
What happens if I don't have mobile data at an attraction?
No problem. The establishment portal is offline-capable via Firebase offline persistence. Check-ins and check-outs are saved locally and automatically synced to the server when the internet is restored — perfect for remote attractions like Lake Danao.
Why do I need to upload my government ID?
Your uploaded ID helps establishment staff verify your identity when you check in — similar to how eGovPH handles document submission. The photo is stored securely in Firebase and is only accessible to the Tourism Office Admin. Access is logged for full accountability.
Can I bring companions who don't have the app?
Yes! Walk-in companions without the app can still be recorded. At hotels, only their nationality is required. At attractions, more complete information is collected. Companions who do have the app can be scanned directly and will appear as standalone tourists in the system.
How do I record my departure from Ormoc?
You have two options: (1) Present your Departure QR Code at an Ormoc City exit checkpoint where staff will scan it, or (2) Tap "I'm Leaving Ormoc" inside the app for a self-checkout. Your Departure QR becomes active after your first establishment check-in.
Is PiñaPath only for tourists, or can establishments use it too?
PiñaPath has three user types: (1) Tourists use the mobile app, (2) Establishments (hotels, resorts, restaurants, attractions) use the web portal for check-ins, reporting, and event management, and (3) The Tourism Office uses the admin dashboard for monitoring and analytics.
Who can see my visit history and personal data?
Your visit history is visible to you in the app. Establishment staff can only see what's needed during check-in. The Tourism Office Admin has access to comprehensive data for tourism management purposes — all with strict access controls and full audit logging.
Is the app free to download and use?
Yes, PiñaPath is a free app for tourists visiting Ormoc City. Simply download it, register, and your QR code is generated at no cost. The app is part of Ormoc City's digital tourism initiative to make visiting easier and more enjoyable.
